Paula’s Party is so much fun to watch! I love Paula Deen and her recipes are always so easy and I usually have everything on-hand. This is quick and I can’t wait to give it a try. If you need a gift and want to do something unique, gather all the ingredients that are non-perishable, make a batch of the mix and put it in a jar, and include the recipe, and VIOLA! (hehehe) A very interesting present that will surely bring a smile. — posted by Redneck Epicurean
I used to not even like fish, but I have developed a deep and abiding love for fish tacos. I’ve tried several different types and loved them all. This one is different from most. The recipe calls for flour tortillas, but I personally prefer corn tortillas with fish tacos. — posted by JeriBinNC
I went nuts and bought a truck load of boxes from an auction recently that all contained recipes, (To me I had hit the jackpot! to my DH it was work.), anyway most of them are on hand written index cards. Some are old recipes and some are newer recipes, There are also clippings from newspapers, boxes, magazines and calendars in the mix. But they all look delicious. The ones I can not read or do not understand I will not post, but for the rest of them that are not already listed here, I will be putting on Zaar for safe keeping and getting rid of the boxes and there contents, which are taking up my entire corner (Floor to Ceiling) of my living room.
Hope you enjoy them.
NOTE: I have not tried these recipes and none of these have time or servings on them so I am guesstimating, those. — posted by Cookin In Texas
Based on a number of other recipes I've enjoyed and a great way to enjoy salmon on a BBQ / grill. Preparation time does not include marination time. Originally this recipe was going to use a tablespoon of sesame seeds and hence have a different title, but I'd run out so you can try that as well! -- posted by Peter J
We were on holidays at Surfers Paradise in Queensland Australia. We were out at different restaurants every night. One
night we tried Vietnamese. My husband ordered Grilled Chicken with lemongrass & Chilli (Ga nuong xa ot). It was quite a surprise when I sampled his chicken, it was mouth-watering. When we got back home I did some research and attempted to make it. Although I didn't find the exact recipe this version is still yummy.
I used chicken thigh fillets instead of breast fillets because the meat is juicer and less fibrous (the restaurant served their dish using thighs). They also used the marinate on Beef, Pork, Prawns, Scallops, Squid, Fish Fillets and Vegetables.
To prepare the lemongrass, trim and discard the roots. Use a vegetable peeler to "whittle" the stalks into thin partial
slices. I used half freshly whittle lemongrass and half grated lemon grass.
I taste the recipe before I placed the meat in and its so yummy I would also use it as a dipping sauce. -- posted by Chef floWer
The title refers to the sauce; the dish is actually cooked in a skillet, not on the grill. From Enola Prudhomme. — posted by JeriBinNC
This tuna melt tastes incredibly rich and uses no mayo. It's a versatile recipe too. You can change the type of bread or cheese, spice it up or down, or even switch it to salmon instead of tuna, and it always comes out great.
The lime juice "pre cooks" the tuna and makes it seem creamier, so you don't need any mayonnaise.
It makes 4 sandwiches if your bread slices are small, but only 2 or 3 larger sandwiches if you use big slices of bread. -- posted by Rob D.
Perfect for a ladies luncheon, or a light meal for a hot summer evening, this recipe of mine is always a hit. -- posted by Kayelle
From "Faster, I’m Starving; 100 Dishes in 25 Minutes or Less" by Kevin and Nancy Mills. This is a new cookbook I found at my library and I wanted to post this before I return the book. This recipe calls for 1 lb. cooked or raw shrimp. Note: sweetened coconut is found near the chocolate chips at the market in the baking isle and unsweetened coconut may be available in the Asian food isle, either works with this recipe. — posted by Oolala
